Erin: ex-keyboard player
The band was started in a drunken' stupor, when Michael and his roommate, Andy, decided to record some songs in their bathroom in Austin, Texas. Michael played guitar and Andy sang and banged on a cardboard box. Months later-after many home-recordings and cases of beer-Charlie was invited to join in the fun. Charlie had just obtained a drum set for free, so he replaced Andy as the rhythm section. Others came and went, but gold was struck when Michael, Andy and Brent moved in together, thus thrusting Brent into the band as the bass player. Charlie invited his friend, Erin, to join the group as a keyboard player.
Unfortunately, the group's good luck ran out and Andy was forced to move back to his hometown of Arlington, Texas. The group's future was in question since they had just lost their frontman and main lyricist. To fill the void, Charlie brought in Xander to broaden the band's guitar capabilities. It was decided that the band would have no single frontman, but each member would have his or her glory in the spotlight. Bad luck struck again-Erin decided to leave the group to pursue a solo career. After a brief time of mourning, the group marched on with Michael and Charlie taking up the slack left by Erin. INRS in action!
I.N.R.S. in action!
Too bad, so sad During the winter of 1997-1998, It's Not Rocket Science spent most of its time in small Austin clubs and living rooms playing its pop gems to delighted audiences. The band members also spent an awful lot of time in the University of Texas recording facilities trying to perfect their first professional sounding recordings.
Then Michael broke up the group. Damn him!
